GREENFIELD LAND MANAGEMENT, LLC, is named after Greenfield, Oklahoma.  Greenfield is a small town in Blaine County, west of Oklahoma City, and was the birth place of Wade E. Thomas, Sr, CPL.  In 1946, after serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, Mr. Thomas began a long career with Continental Oil Company, now Conoco.  His first position was as a clerk in the land department, but he was soon promoted to “scout and leaseman”.  In 1955 he became a charter member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen (AAPL).  During his time with Conoco he served as Division Land Superintendent in Wichita, Oklahoma City, and Midland, Regional Land Superintendent in Fort Worth, and retired in Houston in 1981 as Director of Land, North American Exploration.  After his retirement from Conoco he remained active as a land consultant.

His son, Wade Thomas, Jr., CPL, became a landman in 1972 and named his company Greenfield Land Management, LLC, in honor of his father.  He lives in East Texas and maintains an office in Crockett.
