Greenfield Land Management, LLC, is excited to announce it has signed a contract with LandPro Corp. to be the first field broker to use LandPro’s newest software package, BrokerMate 360.  LandPro Corp., based in The Woodlands, TX, is known widely in the oil, gas, and mining industries for its powerful land management and GIS software.  Its flagship system, Visual LandPro 2000, is used by numerous Exploration and Production companies to manage their leases, payments, and other land needs.  While Visual LandPro 2000 is designed for “in-house” land managers and their teams of landmen, lease analysts, and division order analysts, the newest addition to LandPro’s arsenal, BrokerMate 360, is designed for field landman.

“The dirty secret of land management has always been the insane amount of double and triple work,” says Jared Thomas, Field Operations Manager for Greenfield Land Management, LLC, headquartered in Crockett, TX.  “The best case scenario was a landman (generating research and contracts in the field) entered the data into his or her personal computer, then passed the data on to the client, who re-entered the same data into their own separate database.  The data was then usually passed on to a mapper, who entered it again into the GIS program.  Very often there may be more steps, such as adding the data into some hacked-up Access database in the field office, and maybe again into a seismic contractor’s database, or a surveyor’s.  I’ve worked on projects just in the last few years where we submitted five copies of every contract because there were four or five different
departments entering the data into
different systems. If I was the
client, I’d be furious.

“LandPro solved a lot of the problem
years ago with Visual LandPro 2000.
Simply put, if you’ve got a land
department and you’re NOT using VLP 2000, I don’t know why.  VLP does most of the heavy lifting for your land team automatically.  It keeps track of leases, contracts, fee minerals, right-of-ways, wells, prospects, and much more. For those companies needing more, LandPro also provides various add-on modules, such as the Division Orders Calculation Module, the Coal Mining Revenue Distribution Module, and Visual LandPro GIS (for integrated, seamless GIS Mapping within VLP 2000), which generates useful map reports.  Basically, the system can instantly generate hundreds of reports that otherwise would take hours, if not days.”

Many of the companies who have seen the benefits of using Visual LandPro 2000 requested LandPro Corp. to develop a system for their field landmen so that lease, contact, and chain-of-title information collected in the field could be seamlessly integrated into their databases, thus eliminating the need to re-enter the data.  LandPro Corp. answered with BrokerMate 360.

“BrokerMate was built to finish the job of eliminating double work,” continues Mr. Thomas.  “As field landmen, we can use BrokerMate to generate all the leases, permits, easements, LPRs–basically everything we need to do our job.  Our crew chiefs can run reports on the database in a flash to keep track of where we’re at in the research and lease acquisition process.  That means we can answer our clients’ questions literally within minutes, even if the crew chief is out of pocket.  The program comes with commonly used reports and contracts already built in.  But one of the biggest selling points for us was the ability to add our own custom templates.  That means no matter what kind of job we have and no matter what lease form our client wants us to use, we can easily build a template for it in BrokerMate.  Plus, the program runs online, so that all data is saved on a secure, remote server.  That means when I add a new template, it’s automatically available to my team.  The project manager can run reports and perform the highest possible level of quality control on the work before it’s submitted to the client.  Then, once the client gets the data, they can pop it straight into their Visual LandPro 2000 database.  There’s no need to re-enter what they’ve already paid us to do in the field.  All of our work looks the same, and nothing gets lost or misplaced.”

Mr. Thomas adds that BrokerMate 360 can be used on projects for Greenfield clients who do not use Visual LandPro 2000.

“We will use BrokerMate as much as possible just because of the convenience, uniformity, and all the other advantages it offers our landmen.  I’ve been a big fan of VLP 2000 for a while, and I believe that every operator should be using it.  But BrokerMate offers its own benefits to us by improving our work flow efficiency and quality control.  It will make us leaner and more cost effective.  Once our clients see what these programs can accomplish, they will be as excited as we are.”
